Remember, when you were younger if you will, watching “Bill Nye the Science Guy“?

Well, I just took a trip down memory lane doing some research geeking it out on Discovery Channel’s Planet Green.

Bill Nye is back! Wahoo! Ok, besides the excitement and caffeine consumption, I’ll be serious. This is a serious matter after all.

In this video from Planet Green, Bill Nye explains what the most dangerous drink in the Rain Forest is. Think it’s the water? Try again.

As you may have guessed by now, based on the topic of the blog, coffee is the answer. Calm down! Don’t worry, it’s not hazardous to your health.

Watch Most Dangerous Drink and find out. Sustainable shade-grown coffee, to the rescue!

OK I got distracted when looking at your coffee apps post and ended up here! Anyway, my two cents is that the concept of “fair trade” really should take a back seat to “sustainability”. There won’t be much coffee to trade fairly when all the arable coffee land gets destroyed. Here’s a link ( http://www.4c-coffeeassociation.org/en/ ) to a coffee association that that is working to promote the concept of sustainability (for any one interested). Once enough consumers are aware of the problem, they will hopefully be able to affect change.

It's coffee because the Farmers burn the Rain Forest then the soil is not good nutrients and the sun is too harsh on the beans, and not good for the enviroment or habitat. But, if they Shade grow coffee, everything would improve.
