Making the perfect cup of coffee requires the right ratio of coffee grounds to water. According to the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA), one “cup” is equal to 5 ounces or about 150 milliliters of water. So how much coffee grounds per cup? For that amount of water, you should use 8.3 grams (about 1.6 tablespoons) of ground coffee beans. If you need to make multiple cups, use the same ratio – for 10 cups, use 83 grams or 12 cups, use 100 grams; and so on. This will help ensure your desired strength and flavor from every prepared cup!

Coffee lovers know that the key to a great cup of joe is nailing the perfect ratio between coffee grounds and water. Too many grounds can make your cup too bitter and overpowering, while too few will leave you with an unfortunate watery brew. The ideal number of coffee grounds per cup depends on the flavor profile you’re going for, as well as other factors like bean type and brewing method. As such, figuring out your preferred amount of coffee grounds may require a bit of experimentation, but it’s more than worth it for an amazing cup every time!
